I am one of those people who loves to add any possible schedules to my Google Calendar and set up SMS alerts so that I do not miss them. Case in point, Cricket matches, football matches. One thing I was missing a lot was the daily schedule for English movie channels like Star Movies and HBO, where I had to check newspapers in the morning to see what the night movie is.

From now on I don’t need to do this.

I have been checking the statistics in Google Analytics  for one of my domain names for the past 6 months and noticed that almost 95% of traffic are direct traffic. But I had never bothered to find out why there is no other traffic. Today also, as usual I visited the Analytics reports for this domain and was staring at the ‘Traffic Sources’ report when something hit me in the head – The Eureka Moment (thankfully I was wearing my shorts else, my a couple of my neighbors might have fainted).

I went to my Google Webmaster tools and checked for this domain and then I see this warning.

How stupid of me. I had never checked webmaster tools for this particular site (for whatever reasons). It had never crossed my mind.

All I had to do now is to submit a reconsideration request which I did dutifully.

Google Analytics + Webmaster Tools = Identify problems with your traffic.

After a long time,  I am happy that I wrote a good post (hopefully)

Gmail – the Google version of email was launched by Google nearly three years ago. They were the first to start a war for inbox storage which spread like wildfire and which prompted almost all the major email service providers to jump in. At the end of the day, it is the consumer like us who gets more advantage.

Even though Gmail is a free service provider – an account can be opened with the help of an invitation only. Else you should be having a Google account id. As of now, I am having more than 90 Gmail invites lying idle with me. So, I am inviting anyone who wants an invite to post their email ids here in the comments section.

Pls do not worry about your privacy. your comments with your email addresses will not be made public. They will be moderated by me.

To know more details about gmail and the various functions that they are offering, you can check out their features here.

Hope you all make use of this wonderful opportunity.

Happy New Year to you all.

P.S. I am receiving many requests for invitations for the past few days and am sending them at the earliest. If you are sending the request during a weekend, kindly bear with me because I will be able to send it to you only on the next Monday.

P.S.S. Just remember to mention that you require gmail invitation in the comments section.

Latest Update: Per the latest news, Google has made Gmail free for everyone across the world. So you do not require an invite to open a gmail account. Enjoy Gmail, Enjoy Google… :-)
